Knight Corporate Finance is pleased to announce that it has advised CirrusHQ on its sale to Sword Group, a global technology services and AI specialist listed on Euronext Paris.
CirrusHQ is an Edinburgh-headquartered AWS Premier Tier Services Partner delivering specialist cloud services to customers across the UK. Its team of certified AWS solution architects and engineers supports organisations with the design, management and optimisation of AWS-hosted applications, helping customers achieve the right balance between availability, security and cost efficiency.
The transaction brings CirrusHQ into Sword Group’s international platform of more than 3,600 IT and digital specialists serving customers across over 50 countries. Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Luxembourg, Sword Group reported FY2024 revenue of €323m and has established a significant UK presence across Aberdeen, Glasgow, Teesside and London.
CirrusHQ will continue to operate with its existing team, leadership and specialist AWS focus, supported by Sword Group’s wider resources and international reach. Over time, the combination is expected to create opportunities for CirrusHQ’s customers to access a broader range of capabilities across cloud, AI and security.
The transaction was led by Adam Zoldan, Ryan Batchelor and Lakshmi Reddy of Knight Corporate Finance, with legal support provided by TLT.
James Lucas, Managing Director at CirrusHQ, commented:
”Knight Corporate Finance provided excellent support throughout the transaction process. Their guidance, commercial insight and hands-on approach were invaluable in helping us navigate the deal and achieve a successful outcome. The team worked tirelessly to keep momentum throughout the process, manage the various workstreams and support us through key negotiations. We are extremely grateful for their support in completing the transaction with Sword Group.”
Ryan Batchelor, Associate Director at Knight Corporate Finance, added:
“It was a pleasure to work with the team at CirrusHQ to identify a strategic buyer that could support the long-term growth of the business. With Sword Group looking to further establish its presence in the UK, it represented an ideal strategic partner for CirrusHQ’s next phase of growth.”
Adam Zoldan, Managing Director at Knight Corporate Finance, commented:
“The transaction expands Knight’s experience in supporting digital transformation and cloud services businesses. This transaction shows that the best acquirer for a business is not necessarily the most obvious one.
We are proud to have supported CirrusHQ and its shareholders on this transaction and look forward to seeing the business continue to grow as part of Sword Group.”
