Knight Corporate Finance is delighted to announce its latest transaction, advising the shareholders of Microsoft Teams specialist Resonate UCC on its sale to European technology solutions and services firm SCC.

James Rigby, CEO of SCC EMEA, said of Resonate: “Their expertise on Microsoft Teams, their world-class managed service and their purpose-built management tools will be a welcome addition to our portfolio and an exciting new solution to take to our customers.”

For the Resonate team, a partnership with SCC was a logical answer as they sought to expand their market presence.

“SCC has a wide-ranging and incredibly loyal customer base,” said Bob Garcia, CEO of Resonate. “They are recognised in the industry for their pragmatism and their commitment to customer success. We knew SCC would be a good home for Resonate and a great environment for our people to continue to grow their skills and drive innovation and business value for customers.”

Knight worked with Resonate for a year in the build-up to the transaction process. Resonate has delivered exceptional growth since inception and with its management focused on performance, it was important to ensure the business was prepared for a deal that would include a rigorous due diligence process. During this time, shareholders were able to discuss and understand the options available to them.

Bob Garcia added: “We engaged with Knight at an early stage as we wanted to ensure we were fully prepared for a transaction. As a result, we were able to plan our timetable and our shareholders were able to discuss and define their individual aspirations.

“Knight identified a select group of potential purchasers and it was extremely satisfying to see genuinely high-profile companies competing to work with us. This led to our choice of SCC, as a great choice for both our customers and our employees and the perfect partner to supercharge our growth. The due diligence and legal process was intense, but Knight guided the deal through to completion and were great people to deal with.”

Adam Zoldan, Director at Knight Corporate Finance, said “It has been an absolute pleasure to work with the team at Resonate and see the team realise the benefit from years of hard work.

“The strategy that focused on Teams, targeting some of Europe’s largest companies, was always going to appeal to acquirers looking to enhance their position in the Microsoft environment, and in SCC they have a partner that will support and accelerate the growth of the business.

“With the preparation and time invested ahead of starting what was an extremely competitive process, this was a great example of our mantra: to start a transaction process only when we are sure it will successfully complete.”

Adam led the deal alongside Chris Collins, Associate Director.
