Lancaster-based The Networking People (TNP), is a specialist provider of network technology, connectivity and cybersecurity services to Local Authorities and Public Sector organisations throughout the UK.

The investment by YFM will support TNP’s expansion plans, enhance its service offering, and continue delivering mission-critical network solutions to its growing client base. The transaction facilitates a management buyout led by Scott Daniels (Managing Director) and Robin Williams (Technical Director), who will drive the business forward with the backing of YFM. As part of this investment, Nigel Redwood, the former CEO of Nasstar, joins as Chair.

Knight advised YFM with corporate finance advisory and customer referencing support, using its extensive expertise in the Telecommunications sector to produce a detailed strategic report encompassing sector analysis, a SWOT review of The Networking People, valuation analysis, market analysis and benchmarking, a M&A roadmap and a detailed exit strategy report.

Oliver Wheatley, Investment Manager at YFM commented:

“We chose to work with the team because of their deep knowledge of the sector. They understood the market dynamics, TNP’s positioning within it, and the key value drivers from day one. Their advice was consistently insightful, commercially focused, and well-articulated, giving us real confidence as we progressed through the deal. What really stood out was their ability to blend strategic thinking with practical execution - they weren't just advisors, they felt like an extension of our team. Their support played a key role in shaping our conviction around the investment and in getting the deal over the line.”

Our focus remains on delivering high-quality, high-reliability services that meet the evolving needs of public sector organisations across the UK."

It’s an honour for both myself and the team to be acknowledged at such a well-respected awards event.”
